How To Open Corporate Business Account With Gtbank : Requirements . guess you have registered your business name with CAC Nigeria and want to Open a business account with any bank in Nigeria be it gtbank, UBA, First Bank, Access Bank etc but don't know the requirements or details they would need from you to open business account for your business. recently i went to gtbank to open corporate business account for my business name and was surprised at the documents and other details they requested for.i had to provide the necessary documents such as business name certificate, registration form that has your photo, TIN ( Tax Identification Number ), two signed referee form from anyone who operates a current account with any banks in Nigeria ( excluding salary current account ).they won't accept referee who operate salary current account, so you will have to look for someone with personal current account, it can be from someone personal current account or business account.in this post, i will work you through on how To open a business account with gtbank.
Although, the same procedure should be applied with other banks.if you follow the process correctly, your business account will be created within a week.

How To Open Corporate Business Account In Nigeria With Gtbank.
Documents Needed
TIN (Tax Identification Number )
Two Signed Referee Form
Business Name Certificate
Business Name Form That Has Your Photo
One Passport
BVN
Procedure To Follow
Visit any gtbank and tell the customer care personnel that you want to open a business account
they will give you a form or refer you to their marketing unit
fill in the form appropriately, if you get stuck while filling the form, then ask the account officer to direct you on what to do
after filling the necessary details, you will be given the referee form.you have to meet someone that has current account to sign and attest to it that you are of well behaved person and has known you for long.note that the current account should not be a salary type.it must be a personal or business account
also when the referee form is being signed by the person you gave, please the name of individual/firm should be your business name and not your own name.it should be the business name you registered.
i made a mistake to write my name in one of the form.so do the right thing by writing your business name at the place where they said Name Of Individual/Firm
also, the current account name of the person should be written at where they said name of person,i mean if the person who signed it for you made use of his or her business account, then he should write the name of the business and not his own personal name he bears except that he used his own personal current account.
i also made a mistake by writing the name of the person instead of his business account name since that is what he used to sign one of the form.so take note of that.
the rest information should be straight forward.
as for your TIN, you will have to visit any FIRS office ( Federal Inland Revenue Service) to get it.its free.
also make sure you have your BVN Because they will request for it.you can go for your TIN First before you proceed to the bank so that you won't start moving from the bank to FIRS office.
after everything is done properly, they will request for a payment which they will use to verify your business name to know if it is registered or not.this is done to avoid fraud and illegal activities because anyone can bring a fake business name certificate to open business account.so in this case, you will have to wait for it to be completed.although they may send your account number to you prior to when they completed the name search.hope this helps, you can share the post so others can benefit via Facebook and twitter.

ReplyDeleteyou don't need to pay to open corporate account. the only amount used is for deposit after opening the account. so you have to make deposit to the account. that is what all banks does. at least, 1-5k deposit
